Appearing on SBC Shinetsu Broadcasting!

I'll write about the broadcast from the other day again in a blog (^ ^)

"Ecology Frontline" aired last month on September 10th (2022)
This long-running program airs on Saturday evenings from 5:00 to 5:15 p.m. and began broadcasting in 1998. In 2007, it won the Excellence Award in the Special Awards category (for programs aimed at young people) at the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association Awards. It continues to introduce topics related to the Shinshu eco-friendly industry.

We at Gruber Leather were interviewed because our work reusing game skins drew attention.

We started using this Shinshu deer leather in October of last year, but until then we had primarily been using leather imported from overseas, such as leather from New Zealand.

How did you get interviewed?

I work like normal every day, cutting and sewing leather and shaping it into shapes, but that day suddenly comes!

The phone rang and it said, "This is X from SBC Shinetsu Broadcasting Station, and we're talking about the Shinshu Deerskin Ethical Project..."

That's how it felt when I was with NHK, but I often talk about the contents of my interviews over the phone.

So how did the call come in?

Now, to the main topic, there is an event currently underway called "Shinshu Gibier All-Round Experience."

This event is themed around gibier, with workshops on deerskin and gibier cuisine using venison!
This is a unique event where you can experience Shinshu game meat up close by having lunch after the workshop!

When we first tried to hold this event, we put up a notice in the public relations office of the Nagano Prefectural Government and made a press appeal.

So what does that mean?

Our starting point was the "Shinshu Gibier Complete Experience", but after checking the Gruber Leather website, we found that the activities of the "Shinshu Deerskin Ethical Project" were highly praised, and we ended up being the subject of our interview!

I was so happy (^○^)

  1. In addition, please watch the YouTube video above. They really covered every detail,
  2. Current status of bird and animal damage
  3. What impact does this have on the environment?
  4. Hunters' activities
  5. Nagano City Gibier Processing Center
  6. About Mersen Co., Ltd. in Iida City
  7. Our thing

To be honest, I was nervous this time because I had to answer a bunch of questions.
I never expected that they would introduce every nook and cranny in such detail, so I am truly grateful.

We hope that through this broadcast, people (including myself) will become at least a little more ethical, and we feel that in order for this activity to continue, we need to spread the word about it and move forward!

We are currently accepting applications for the Complete Shinshu Gibier Experience!!!
Please be sure to pay attention to this article if you read it!
It's a weekday, so if you can come, please enjoy it (^○^)
